Earth Day 2022

According to Earthday.Org, on April 22, 1970, 20 million Americans protested for a healthy, sustainable environment. By the end of that year, the first Earth Day had led to the creation of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the passage of the Clean Air, Clean Water, and Endangered Species Acts. Fifty-two years later, the annual Earth Day celebration continues. Earthday.Org’s theme for this year is “Invest In Our Planet.”

Board of Education Work Session - April 26, 2022

Join us for a Board of Education Work Session on April 26 at 6 p.m. The meeting will be held at the District Office (92 Lodestone Way, Tooele) and streamed on YouTube:
A work session is intended to provide opportunities for board members to study issues in-depth, gather and analyze information, and clarify situations and potential solutions. The Board will not make decisions or take any action during a work session. While open to the public, these sessions are more informal than the regular board meeting.

TCSD Board of Education hires new superintendent

After a thorough hiring process, the Tooele County School District Board of Education voted to appoint Dr. Mark Ernst as the incoming superintendent for the Tooele County School District. Pending contract negotiations, Ernst will begin his superintendency on July 1, 2022.

Open House to Review New K-6 ELA Curriculum

Every seven years the school district goes through a review process for educational curriculum to ensure current and research-based learning materials are being used. TCSD recently completed the review process for a new K-6 ELA curriculum. This process was conducted by a team of 45 educators, invited from every elementary school, and representing each grade level. The community is encouraged to attend the open house to review the student and teaching materials as well as have any questions answered.

Update to Face Mask Requirement on School Transportation

Effective immediately: Facemasks or face coverings are not required on school buses or other school district vehicles. It will be supported by the school and District whether an individual chooses to wear a mask/covering or not. For questions related to school transportation, please call the Transportation Department at 435-833-1919. Thank you.
